• Create and manage your GYAN account
• Send account verification and security notifications
• Display your profile in the community directory (if you opt in)
• Send newsletter updates (only if you subscribe)
• Respond to contact form inquiries
• Improve our website and services

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted data storage and row-level security. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission between your browser and our servers. Profile photos and uploaded files are stored in secured cloud storage buckets.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. No personal data is shared with advertisers.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
• PayPal — donation processing (we do not store payment details)
• SMTP email service — transactional emails (verification, notifications)

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Update or correct your profile information at any time
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Unsubscribe from newsletter communications

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Newsletter subscriber emails are retained until you unsubscribe.
